The building of NCMMS (National Cotton Market Monitoring Station), jointly established by CNCRC and the price monitoring center of NDRC, is progressing smoothly. The system integration has primarily completed and cotton market monitoring is being pushed forward steadily.
NCMMS is the only treasury bonds funded system established for the monitoring and analyzing of cotton market. It is composed of a network system, system support platform, applied software system, state cotton data-bank and a security system for information. With a scientific distribution, the monitoring station collects information and provides statistics of cotton production, procurement, processing, consumption and stocks. It provides scientific ground for decision making through a complete monitoring of domestic cotton market.
Since the beginning of the project in last December, the office of NCMMS has finished the building of network information center, IDC data-bank and the integration of the price monitoring center. The hardware system has passed a preliminary test. The development of software system has exceeded 50%. So far, 6 regional offices and 96 monitoring stations have been built to cover Henan, Hebei, Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Shanxi and Shaanxi. The building of data-processing center, which is undertaken by the price monitoring center, has been fully equipped with hardware and successfully run through the test. Software developing and staff training are basically finished. The entire system is entering into a trial stage and is steadily pushing forward the monitoring work. |
